Girls Science Interactive: Free Summer Camp for Middle School Girls

June 24, 2016
Girls Science Interactive Summer Camp, a free program for girls entering grades 4-6, will be offered in Haworth from June 27 to July 1 from 10AM to 12:30PM. Started by Northern Valley Demarest student Sabina London, Girls Science Interactive is a youth-led nonprofit organization that provides free STEM summer camps and other programs for elementary and middle school girls to spark their interest in science. Girls Science Interactive hopes to show young girls that science can be fun and exciting by performing hands on experiments to explore areas, such as energy and matter, global warming and renewable energy, astronomy, chemistry, and neuroscience. Since boys are three times more likely to pursue STEM careers than girls, Girls Science Interactive focuses on encouraging girls to pursue scientific knowledge at a young age.
