Macaroni Kid Review: Blown Away at the Gazillion Bubble Show

July 22, 2016
This past weekend, the kids and I were invited to see the GAZILLION BUBBLE SHOW at New World Stages in New York City. The last time we went to see the show, we were just a family of three. My then two-year-old son loved the show. (Read the 2011 review HERE). Now seven years old, my son still enjoyed it, and so did my four year old daughter!

Hosted by Guinness World Record holder Ana Yang, the Gazillion Bubble Show immerses the audience in the wonderful world of bubble magic. During the show, we learn about Ana's past living in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and moving to Yugoslavia in 1981, where she met her husband Fan Yang. Together she and Fan have been amazing the world with their bubble artistry for over 20 years.

During the 60-minute show, Ana creates fantastic bubble creations, some of which seem to defy laws of physics. Just when you think you've seen every possible bubble shape and size, you'll be blown away with the next act. The best part is seeing pure joy on the kids' faces and hearing their squeals of delight with every bubble created.

Macaroni Tips:

  • Arrive early for a photo op inside a bubble (extra charge of $20).
  • There is no intermission so plan bathroom breaks and snacks accordingly.
  • There is no outside food or drinks inside the theater, but there are plenty of places around Times Square to grab a bite to eat before or after the show. For a sit-down meal, we love John's Pizzeria on 260 W. 44th Street. For a quick and cheap slice of pizza, check out $1 Pizza on 50th Street and 9th Avenue. Better yet, pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic at Bryant Park (between 40th and 42nd Street and 5th and 6th Avenue).
  • For parking, there are two garages on the same block as New World Stages. During the day on Sundays, you can try your luck finding street parking between 9th and 10th Avenues.
