Autumn Leaves Shadowbox

Macaroni Made

By Angeline Sheridan October 17, 2012
One of my favorite things about living in the Northern and Pascack Valley area is the beautiful fall folliage.  We love the colorful leaves so much that we decided to make a shadowbox of them!  This is a great activity to do in the backyard or at a local park.

You'll Need:
  • A bag of colorful leaves (we made this into a separate activity, walking around the backyard with a "special leaf bag" collecting interesting leaves)
  • A cardboard box with one side open - we used one from a 12-pack of iced tea cans
  • Glue
  • Paint (optional)

Directions:
Paint the cardboard box if desired.  (We left ours as is.)  Have your children dip each leaf in glue and paste onto the cardboard box.  Let dry and enjoy your masterpiece!
