Thanks For Supporting A Good Cause!

By Angeline Sheridan September 26, 2013
A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Cookies for Kids Cancer bake sale during Northvale Town Day on September 21, 2013. All donations will benefit the non-profit organization Cookies For Kids Cancer, which funds much-needed pediatric cancer research projects.

If you missed the bake sale, there is still time to make a tax-deductible donation and take advantage of matching donations from corporate sponsors. Visit www.cookiesforkidscancer.org to make a donation today.

You can also join the fight by hosting your own bake sale. For more information, visit www.cookiesforkidscancer.org.

About Pediatric Cancer
Pediatric cancer is the number one disease killer in the U.S. of children under the age of 18. It kills more children than asthma, AIDS, muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis combined. Research funding has made a direct and measurable impact on the survival rates of pediatric cancer. Unfortunately, pediatric cancer receives a very small percentage of the National Cancer Institute’s $4.8 billion annual budget and almost no research and development dollars from pharmaceutical companies.

About Cookies for Kids' Cancer
Gretchen and Larry Witt founded Cookies for Kids' Cancer in 2008, just a few short months after the success of their first cookie sale during the holidays 2007. Their efforts have always been inspired by their son Liam who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2007 at the age of 2. Tragically, Liam came to the end of his courageous 4-year fight with cancer on January 24, 2011 at the age of 6. Though devastated by his loss, the Witts remain more determined than ever to continue the fight against pediatric cancer.
