Cookie's Monster Land at Sesame Place: A Macaroni Mom's Review

Winner Announced! (Sponsored)

Each year, since my daughter was a year and a half, we’ve made our annual trek to Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. Over the years, our family has grown by several cousins so our group has gotten larger and larger, and ages are more diverse.

Fortunately, Sesame Place is made for families like us. The older ones love the many water slides and roller coasters, and the little ones, well, what’s not to like? This is one of the few theme parks that offers rides that toddlers and adults can enjoy together and even boasts a smaller scaled water play area that mimics the big kid version, Count’s Splash Castle. I personally love The Lazy River. It is perfect for taking a break from all of that walking and the opportunity to cool off at a slowed down pace.

This year, we were excited for the opportunity to review Cookie's Monster Land, Sesame Place's newest entertainment area. We went on a hot sunny weekday which worked out perfectly. When we arrived, we decided to park in Preferred Parking which was worth the extra $3 because we brought our coolers over to the nearby (and plentiful) picnic tables and had an early lunch. This was definitely a really great and affordable option for our party of 13! Of course, throughout the day we bought plenty of Elmo pretzels, ice cream cones, and sodas!

We went to a few of the dry rides first. Once we all agreed that we were hot, we headed over to the Count’s Splash Castle. The bigger kids and adults tackled the water slides and the small toddlers and babies splashed at the water’s edge.

Because we go so often, we were all so excited to visit Cookie's Monster Land, the park's newest attraction! Here are our reviews of the new and improved rides in this area of the park.

CAPTAIN COOKIE’S HIGH “C’s” ADVENTURE

Coast along the gentle waves of the "High C" in your own little ship. Super cute and great for a first time ride experience.

OSCAR’S ROTTEN RUSTY ROCKETS

My daughter and her cousins thoroughly enjoyed riding in their trash can rockets! They loved how the ride sped up as it zipped around corners. They laughed the entire time!

HONKER DINGER DERBY

By far, our favorite ride of the day! You ride in derby cars that twist and turn and even go sideways. There's nothing else like this in the park so this one definitely stood out. Be mindful that the height requirement for riders is 42" and up. Parents may wish to steer to the more toddler-friendly rides to avoid disappointment.

MONSTER MIX-UP

The classic "teacup ride" experience but all discoed out with a new look! Always fun for a spin and the new design looks great.

FLYING COOKIE JARS

Sesame Park regulars will remember the hot air balloon ride which has been converted into Flying Cookie Jars. The candy-colored paint has really livened up this attraction: the cookie jars are adorable. Perfect first ride for little ones!

MONSTER CLUBHOUSE

This three-story net structure is fun for bouncing and climbing high in the sky. I enjoyed it watching from below and appreciated the fact that I could keep an eye on the kiddos' whereabouts as they made their way through it.

MINI MONSTER CLUBHOUSE

This fun little toddler crawl through area is situated right underneath the Monster Clubhouse. Perfect for children under 5 that are more comfortable having fun off of the rides and out of the water. Great way for them to run off excess energy in a safe, enclosed area made just for them.

If you haven't been to Sesame Place before, you're missing out! Great fun for families of all ages to enjoy together! If you've been before, it's definitely worth going again to see what's new and what’s more, the chance to feel like a kid again!
