2014 Halloween Events For Boos and Ghouls In and Around Bergen County

IT'S ALIVE!!! Macaroni Kid's 2014 guide to all things wickedly fun to celebrate Halloween is here. Click on each link for more information about the event. Check back every week for updates!


OCTOBER 24

HALLOWEEN CARD CRAFT - 5PM-7PM at American Girl Place, NYC. Inspire your girl to make something frightfully nice: a handmade card and matching envelope.

ZOOBOO - 6PM-9PM at Van Saun, Paramus. Enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the zoo, ghostly storytelling, magic shows and the Eerie Express Train which takes you on a spine-tingling train ride around the zoo (not recommended for younger guests). Tickets for trick or treating is SOLD OUT, but tickets for the Eerie Express Train are still available. 

DECORATE A HALLOWEEN HAUNTED HOUSE - 7:30PM at American Girl Place, NYC. Learn how to turn chocolate gingerbread into a "boo-tiful" haunted house, complete with colorful candies and other tasty treats. Advance registration required.




OCTOBER 25

RIVER VALE RAGAMUFFIN PARADE - 9:15AM, River Vale Road and Westwood Avenue. Parade, magic show and refreshments.

FALL FUN AT LUPARDI'S NURSERY - 10AM-5PM, Closter. Enter a haunted greenhouse, go on a wagon hayride, feed live animals, and ride a 30-foot slide. Click here for Macaroni Kid's Review.

TICE'S CORNER FALL HARVEST FEST - 10AM-1PM, Tice's Corner, Woodcliff Lake. Enjoy a day of trick-or-treating, balloon artists, face painting, magicians and shopping. 

WESTWOOD HALLOWEEN RAGAMUFFIN PARADE- 10AM, Westwood Railroad Station and Community Center, Westwood. Parade, entertainer and refreshments. 

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP RAGAMUFFIN PARADE AND FALL FESTIVAL - 10AM-3:30PM, Finnerty Place and Pascack Road, Township Library and Memorial Field. Have a fun-filled day starting with a parade, followed by a virtual Haunted House featuring eerie décor, special effects, and scary actors, and a Fall Festival featuring bouncy rides, fun slides, a trackless train, hot dogs, hamburgers, cold beverages, games, balloon art, face painting, and more!

OLD TAPPAN HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL AND RAGAMUFFIN PARADE - 1PM, Oakes Park, Old Tappan. Dress in costume to win prizes, then join the festivities including family/group scarecrow making, hayrides, a photo booth, arts and crafts station, and refreshments for all. 

PARK RIDGE RAGAMUFFIN PARADE - 3PM, Park Ridge. Come dressed in costume for prizes, games, refreshments and fun.

GHOST STORIES AT HAWORTH POND - 7PM, Haworth Pond, Haworth. Come enjoy ghost stories, poems, and music for zombies of all ages! There will be free cider and apples for the living, and glow sticks for the first 100 ghouls dressed in costume.


OCTOBER 26

DEMAREST HALLOWEEN PARADE AND FALL FESTIVAL - 11AM at Railroad Depot, Demarest. Participate in a costume parade for prizes, then continue the fun with games, arts and crafts, music, goodie bags, treats and more!

NORWOOD PARADE - 1:30PM at Norwood Library. After the parade, there will be festivities at the Norwood Firehouse. 


OCTOBER 27

GHOST-HUNTING IN NJ AND NYC - 7PM at Old Tappan Library. Come to a spooky audio-visual presentation by NJ Ghosthunters Society to learn the history and haunts of NJ and NYC. 


OCTOBER 29

STORYTELLING OF THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW - 4PM at Washington Township Library. Acclaimed storyteller Jonathan Kruk will have a special reading of the famous story.

SPOOKFEST - 6PM-8PM at Palisades Center. Live music, costume contest, free prizes and candy.




OCTOBER 30

HALLOWEEN FASHION PARADE AT FASHION CAMP NJ - 4:30-6:30PM, Norwood. Strut down the fashion runway in costume, make your own trick or treat bag, enjoy pizza, drinks and treats!

TRUNK OR TREAT AT NORTHERN VALLEY DEMAREST HIGH SCHOOL - 5:30PM-7:15PM. Bring a flashlight, judge the trunks and get candy from participating high school students at this free community-wide event for all ages. 




OCTOBER 31

TRICK OR TREAT AT PARAMUS PARK - 3PM-6PM, Paramus. 

BIG APPLE CIRCUS HALLOWEEN SHOW - 6:30PM, NYC. Come for a special The Big Apple Circus Halloween show with goodie bags, photo ops and selfies with performers, and free cotton candy for kids in costume!




NOVEMBER 1

TRUNK OR TREAT AT NORTHERN VALLEY OLD TAPPAN HIGH SCHOOL - 12PM-2PM. Judge the trunks and get candy from participating high school students at this free community-wide event for all ages.

HALLOWEEN CANDY BUYBACK - 10AM-4PM at Twinkle Little Star Pediatric Dentistry, Westwood. Donate your candy to Operation Gratitude and for every pound donated, Twinkle Little Star Pediatric Dentistry will give you $1.
