During spring recess, explore the Harry W. Lake Playground at Stone Pointe Park. You will find it on Harrington Ave in Old Tappan. There are a couple of different structures designed to keep the older and younger kids slightly separated. The big kids section has a very steep corkscrew slide and lots of fun things to climb on like poles, rings and chain steps. The other area has toys, puzzles, and toddler size equipment. There’s also a bright red fire truck that you can sit and steer, climb and slide on.
The Playground Guide, www.theplaygroundguide.com, gives the playground here 3 stars. (Keep reading to get a great deal on The Bergen County Playground Guide!) The park itself has lots to do including a walking path, Skate Park, tennis and sports fields. The playground sits in the middle of all of this activity.
To get to Stone Pointe Park from Westwood, head northeast on Westwood Avenue. Westwood Avenue becomes Harrington Avenue when you hit Kinderkamack Road. Continue on Harrington Avenue for about two miles, bearing left when you reach a bend in the road. The park will be on the right.
