"Saturday was a great opportunity for kids to have fun learning about different holidays around the world," says on-site owner Anthony Vasallo. "It was also an opportunity to help us collect donations for charities that are near and dear to the school during this holiday season. This event wouldn’t be as successful without the participation of the community. We would like to thank all of the local business including Macaroni Kid for participating in The Goddard School’s Winter Wonderland Event."
Local families from Norwood, Harrington Park, Hackensack, Closter and others attended the community event. Each room of the school featured a different holiday with a craft or activity for the children. One room was dedicated to Santa's North Pole where children had an opportunity to meet Santa and take a picture with him. Macaroni Kid participated by making magic reindeer food. Di Bari's Catering donated macaroni and cheese.
Every year Goddard School collects unused, unwrapped toys to be donated to the Toys for Tots Program.

This year, in addition to collecting dozens of toys for Toys for Tots, the school also raised nearly $2,000 for the Make A Wish Foundation by raffling off numerous baskets donated by local businesses: Daniella’s Nails, Callahan Jewlers, Nycz Family, Olives Family, Macaroni Kid, Organica, Fenix sports, Caribbean Food Delights, Sabrina’s Delights, Biddy O’Malleys, Dolce Vita Ristorante, Northvale Diner, Spoon Me, Dino’s Ristaurant, Vicolo Ristorante, Old Tappan Dairy Queen, Closter Golf, Wine and Whiskey Barrel, TD Bank, Books and Greetings, Shoprite, and Norwood Dunkin Dounts.
According to Vassallo: "Recipients of these baskets walked away with gifts such as IPod Touch, Kindle Fire, restaurant gift certificates and so much more! It was a very exciting event and the best part, we were able to reach our goal and raise almost $2,000 in cash to be donated to Make a Wish Foundation and boxes of toys for Toys for Tots."

The Goddard School of Norwood is located on 15 Brook Street in Norwood. For more information about the school, become a Facebook fan, email on-site owner Anthony Vassallo or call 201-750-2200.
