Pinwheel Days: Story Time And Activity With The Kids

By Cheryl Berkowitz June 12, 2014
Pinwheel Days by Ellen Tarlow is a wonderful book to read with children 3 years of age through 2nd grade.  The books consists of 4 short stories about friendship and kindness. After reading the story, you can play hide n seek, make peanut butter (sunflower) sandwiches, and reenact the book in your own creative way.

To Make a Pinwheel, You'll Need:
Lightweight paper (colorful origami paper optional)
Push pin
Skewer or straw
Paint (optional)
Markers (optional)
PinwheelforPeace.com has a great template you can utilize. Most elementary schools in our area use this site for Pinwheel for Peace day in the fall time.

You can paste the origami paper onto the template or your child can draw on the template to decorate the pinwheel.

Have fun!!
