Camels, Clowns, and Cotton Candy Fun At The Big Apple Circus

A Macaroni Dad's Review (Sponsored)

This past Friday, my kids and I had the opportunity to see The Big Apple Circus's Opening Night at Lincoln Center in New York City. This was my first time at the circus and I was happy to share the experience with my two year old daughter, and my five year old son who saw the show last year.

Between the exciting acts and the prerequisite cotton candy, the kids were thoroughly entertained throughout the show. Some of the more thrilling acts like the trapeze artists and the aerial stunts not only ellicited oohs and aahs, but also sparked conversation about how much training and skills it would take for such performances.

My daughter enjoyed Jenny Vidbel and her team of animals, which included camels, horses, goats and dogs that strutted around the ring.

Francesco the Clown was interesting and kept the crowd entertained in between acts. I also liked how the intimate setting of The Big Apple Circus made it conducive to audience participation.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable show for both kids and adults. The performance was about 2 hours long with an intermission in between. I would recommend this show for ages 2 and up.

The Big Apple Circus is in town until January 11, 2015. Don't miss it!
