Local Memorial Day Parade Guide

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2021, take the time to remember and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may enjoy our freedoms today. Macaroni Kid Northeast Bergen has compiled a list of local Memorial Day Parades below. Due to inclement weather, parades may be cancelled and service may be moved indoors.


Closter - 10AM. It will start at the Target parking lot at Closter Plaza, and proceed through the center of town to Memorial Park for the Memorial Day ceremonies. There will be hot dogs and refreshments will be served at Memorial Park following the ceremonies.


Norwood - 11AM. The American Legion Post 272 will be having its annual Memorial Day parade beginning at Norwood Public School and ending at Memorial Park. 


Old Tappan - 9:30AM. The parade will start from the back of the Northern Valley Old Tappan High School and end in Oakes Park on Central Avenue. There will be a memorial ceremony that includes parading the colors, National Anthem, a rifle salute and taps. In the event of inclement weather, the Fire Department siren will be sounded at 8:15AM indicating the parade and ceremony has been cancelled. 


Washington Township - 10AM. The parade will start at the corner of Washington and Clinton Avenue and proceed through Pascack Road to the Washington Memorial monument in front of town hall. where there will be a memorial ceremony starting at 11AM.


Westwood
- 10:30AM. The Memorial Day Caravan will start at Veterans Park after a memorial service, and can be viewed from Westwood Avenue. It will run through Jefferson, Kinderkamack, Westwood Avenue, Washington, Lafayette, Forest, 4th, 3rd, Mill, 1st, Old Hook, Emerson, Palisade, Pascack, Sand, and Harrington Avenue.


Also pause for a minute of silence at 3PM on Monday to commemorate our fallen heroes.
