As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the Park Ridge Police Department among other local police departments has kicked off the Pink Hat campaign to support breast cancer research and raise awareness. The campaign in Park Ridge started in 2012 with Lt. Nick Errico (retired) whose wife is a breast cancer survivor.
The Pink Hat campaign has grown in popularity among other Bergen County police departments including Closter, Edgewater, Emerson, Harrington Park, Hawthorne, Ho-Ho-Kus, Northvale, Norwood, Old Tappan, River Vale, Saddle River, Waldwick, Washington Township and Westwood, as well as the Harrington Park Fire Department. The hats will be sold for $25 at each participating location throughout the month of October.
