A Family Fun Day at Mountain Creek Water Park

My family and I were recently invited to check out Mountain Creek Water Park in Vernon, NJ. Walking up to Mountain Creek, we were greeted by the fresh mountaintop air. It was quite refreshing, and I couldn’t help but think back to days I ran around this park when I was younger. I was extremely happy with how nicely we were greeted and attended at the pool cabanas.

Our cabana attendee, Audrey, was super nice and was there to assist us with anything we needed. Having a cabana at the waterpark is so convenient: you get complimentary water and fruit along with a locker rental, which allowed us to run around the park without lugging all our personal belongings with us. I was also able to relax away from the hot sun in the cabana with my toddler.

Mountain Creek Water Park offers over 20 rides and slides, and the high-thrill rides like the High Anxiety and H2-OH-NO! have a height requirement of at least 48". We loved the designated area for toddlers. My daughter had such a great time on the lazy river pool, splashing in sprayground, and exploring the Fishing Village which has water canons, waterfalls and two slides.

After playing in the water park for a bit, we took a quick break to eat. Thankfully the food huts are located right across from the kiddie section. They had a vast selection to choose from and overrall, the food was great and affordable. We decided to try the Mexican Corn on the Cob and a Burrito from the "Yo Quiero Taco Bout It" hut. We also enjoyed chicken fingers and French fries from "Mountain Eats".

After devouring our lunch, we, of course, had to have something sweet. Shakes and Floats naturally caught our attention because you could smell the sweet aroma. And let me tell you - they did not disappoint. Shakes and Floats has the cutest setup inside along with a dessert tower made from cotton candy and popcorn.

On display were also Funnel Fries, Fried Apple Pie, Fried Cheesecake  Rolls, Deep Fried Oreo and Deep Fried Cookie Dough. Being that I’m a true New Jersey girl, I was immediately sold on the deep Fried Oreos. My toddler loved seeing them prep and fry the Oreos. They were delicious!

We finished our adventure at Mountain Creek by going on the Sky Ride. It offers the best views and most tranquil scenery - a perfect way to end a fun family day!
