The Big Playhouse, the beloved indoor playspace for children under 7 years old in Westwood, has announced it will not reopen. In a social media post, the current owner Larine Baratta announced a move out of state and its intention to sell the business.

Known for good ol' fashioned imaginative play, The Big Playhouse was popular among young families looking for a meticulously clean, baby-friendly indoor playspace for open play, character meet-and-greet events, and private birthday parties.
My family grew up playing in The Big Playhouse until they aged out. We were one of the first families to welcome Larine and The Big Playhouse to Westwood when it opened in 2013. (See article HERE about their Grand Opening) We will cherish all the beautiful memories created there and wish the staff the best of luck in their future endeavors.
