Coming Soon: Washington Township Cinemas Is Now Township Theatre

By Angeline Sheridan March 9, 2021

Washington Township Cinemas, located on 249 Pascack Road in the Township of Washington, is under new ownership. The new owners previously operated the Ramsey Theater, which offered drive-in movies, backyard movie parties, and live stand-up comedy throughout the pandemic. Township Theatre, shuttered since the COVID pandemic started, will undergo a facelift before it opens.

The new owners promise to bring back the fun of going to the movies when Township Theatre re-opens in early April. In addition to movies, the theater will host live stand-up comedy events and other live events similar to what was offered at Ramsey Theater.

A tentative soft opening date is April 9, with the possibility of showing Tom & Jerry: The Movie or Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon. People interested in booking birthday parties and private movie screenings, with a maximum capacity of 70 people, can schedule them now.

A website will be coming soon to announce an opening date and a schedule of public screenings. Stay tuned for a possible Macaroni Kid event when the theater re-opens!
