Opening Alert: Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood Restaurant in Englewood

By Angeline Sheridan June 4, 2021

If you're hooked on seafood, you'll reel-ly like Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood, a restaurant chain that just opened its first Bergen County location in Englewood. Hook & Reel is a fun restaurant where you and the family can get MESSY and eat with your hands.

The Hook & Reel seafood boil is the most popular menu item, in which you can mix and match different seafood options including snow crab legs, shrimp, black or New Zealand mussels, crayfish, lobster tails, king crab, whole lobster, scallops, calamari, and blue crab (when in season).

You can choose from a variety of sauces: original cajun, plain, garlic butter, Old Bay (dry seasoning), lemon pepper, and the Hook & Reel Special Blend.  You can also choose the level of spiciness: mild, spicy, and fire.

If you want to try a little bit of everything, go for the combo boils. We chose "The Reel Catch" with snow crab legs, lobster tail, clams, and New Zealand mussels in the Hook & Reel Special Blend sauce, spicy. The combo boils also come with corn on the cob and potatoes that are mixed in with the seafood and sauce.

The boil probably feeds 2 people or 1 hungry person. If you are sharing, I recommend ordering a few add-ons. We also added noodles and sausage to ours and it was just right for 3 people.

We also tried the crabmeat fries: shredded crabmeat with sauce on top of crispy french fries - so good!

Hook & Reel is located at 45 Nathaniel Place in Englewood. They offer in-person dining as well as takeout. See their menu HERE. Their current hours are Sunday-Thursday 12PM to 10PM and Friday-Saturday from 12PM to 11PM. As with any new restaurant openings, the menu and hours of operation are subject to change. And please be patient with the service.
