Closter Mayor Glidden Announces Town-Related Closures

Closter Mayor Glidden announced on March 13 the Closter Senior Citizen's Center and Closter Library are closed until further notice. "Most" immediate Closter Recreation activities, especially children's sports, and all large gatherings hosted by the Borough and non-profit groups, including the Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for April 11, are postponed until further notice. On March 16, the Closter Recreation Commission announced the closure of all Closter playgrounds to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  To encourage social distancing, basketball hoops have also been removed, and all "organized sports calling for close contacts or contact with other players sports" should be discontinued. The parks remain open for people to use to get fresh air while limiting close contact with others.
