This past Friday, my daughter and I were invited to see Disney on Ice presents Princesses and Heroes at IZOD Center. This is the first time I watched Disney on Ice as a mother, and it was my daughter's first show. Since my daughter is only two years old, I wasn't sure if she would be able to sit still or even enjoy it. She loves ice skating. She is not really into princesses, and the only two Disney movies she has seen are Frozen and Sleeping Beauty. This was either going to be a big hit or a giant flop. I was excited and anxious to see her reaction.
The moment the lights dimmed, my daughter's face lit up. She was excited to see Anna and Elsa, and kept asking, “Where's Elsa? Where's Anna?” Tinkerbell opened up the show. Mickey and Minnie followed her. Then the Disney princesses and heroes, along with their stories, were all introduced one by one. It was clear by the sea of Elsa and Anna costumes throughout the arena and the giant snowflake hanging above the center of rink who the most-awaited characters of the show were. Surprisingly, the character that garnered the warmest welcome was Olaf!

The first time that my daughter smiled was when the seven dwarfs came out. She also loved the sea creatures that came out for “Under the Sea”. But her favorite part was the final, which really showcased how Elsa and Anna were special because of their sisterly bond.
I thought the music and storytelling were phenomenal. The tricks and exhibitions of the skaters were also fantastic. My favorite trick was when one of the sailors from Prince Eric's ship flipped through the air to land on a chair balanced on a very tall pole held by two other sailors.
All in all, I would recommend this show to children from ages 2 to 92. I am so happy to have shared this fun experience with my daughter. The show made me feel like a kid again. It made me remember my love for the Disney princesses and how true love conquers all. Boys would also have fun because of the heroes in the show that saved the day. We would definitely watch another Disney on Ice presentation because it was so enjoyable.

Macaroni Tips
- Parking was easy. Just make sure to bring $15 cash, because they do not take credit cards.
- The show is 2 hours, including a 15 minute intermission, which was perfect - not too long and not too short. Anything longer than 2 hours would probably make my daughter restless.
- Be prepared for the many Disney paraphernalia vendors walking throughout the arena. They only take cash, and most of the toys cost at least $20. They were also selling buttered, salted, really good popcorn in a Disney bag for $12, as well as snow cones in various Disney character cups for $12-$15.
- Credit cards are accepted in the main vendor stands.
